How To Save Your Battery Power

If you’re wondering why your battery becomes drained very quickly, you should consider to do optimization in several aspects. Here, we already collected them and we hope that they can help you to save your battery.

  1. Identify the applications which are using the most power
    Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Battery Use. On un-optimized phone, the most power usually being used by display

  2. Reduce the brightness of the display
    Enabling WiFi connection will consume more battery. The wireless networking transmitter uses quite a bit of power. Even when the device is not connected to a network, it will continue to search for one on a regular basis. So if you do not need it, turn it off and turn it on when you need it. You can set it on Settings -> Display -> Brightness

  3. Use black background color especially on AMOLED display
    AMOLED display can reduce power usage sevenfold by displaying black instead of white or any other color. When searching on your phone you can also use Black Google Mobile at bGoog.com to get standard Google results (including images) all in black
  4. Set screen timeout to the shortest length possible
    In shorter period, the less power your display will consume, this setting options vary from phone to phone. You can set it up under Settings -> Display -> Screen Timeout

  5. Switch off the 3G data when you do not need it
    Data, especially if you are using 3G mode, it consumes more battery. So if you do not need access to the high speed mobile data connection, turn it off and turn it on when you need it. Switch it within Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Data Enabled. As an alternative, if you still need data frequently, you can use 2G mode, by setting it up under Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Use Only 2G Networks

  6. Switch off the WiFi when you do not need it
    Enabling WiFi connection will consume more battery. The wireless networking transmitter uses quite a bit of power. Even when the device is not connected to a network, it will continue to search for one on a regular basis. So if you do not need it, turn it off and turn it on when you need it. This setting is located under Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi

  7. Switch off the Bluetooth when you do not need it
    Enabling bluetooth connection will consume more battery. Likely as the same reason of switching off the WiFi. So if you do not need it, turn it off and turn it on when you need it. This setting is located under Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth
  8. Switch off the Auto Sync when you do not need it
    Auto sync requires data connection, every specified time, when data connection is enabled, it will synchronize data to the specified account, such as contact, calendar, events, etc. You can set it under Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Auto-Sync and Background Data

  9. Switch off the GPS when you do not need it
    Enabling GPS will consume more battery. Likely as the same reason of switching off the WiFi. So if you do not need it, turn it off and turn it on when you need it. This setting is located under Settings -> Location & Security -> Use GPS Satellites

  10. Switch off the Vibration when you do not need it
    Enabling phone vibration will consume more battery. Alternatively, set the ringer volume all the way off, past the Vibrate setting. You can turn off the vibration under Settings -> Sound -> Vibrate

  11. Use Power Control Widget
    It will help you to turn off several settings above easily and faster. Usually its already installed, just drag your top menu bar down and you will see the widget along with notification status

  12. Disable Live Wallpaper
    Live wallpaper is great, it displays information with beautiful animation, but drawing animation requires more power, so its better to turn it off if you do not need it
  13. Put phone into Standby Mode when you do not use it
    Simply press the red “End call” key and the display will darken. Press it again and it will light up
  14. Lock phone into Standby Mode when you do not use it
    Simply drag they Lock icon to the right to lock and immediately turn your screen off to save the power
  15. Install Power Management Application
    Power management app will help you optimize and automate the optimization for you, most covered automated aspects are already mentioned above
  16. Close Unused Applications
    Closing unused will free the cpu and memory resource and processing time, thus it will save more power
  17. Install Task Manager
    Task manager can be used to close applications especially for the apps which can not be closed by user manually. Task manager can also use auto cleanup feature which will periodically check for idle / inactive applications and then close them automatically
